Top Fashion Trends 2017 If you want to find out what's in fashion right now then this video is for you. Not only will it give you a few ideas for new outfits but hopefully it will inspire you to try a few new trends too. All of these trends are what's in fashion right here in New Zealand and most of them are universally flattering too so there should be something for everyone. 1.Puffer jackets Puffers have had a modern makeover this winter and they are my favourite new season item. Not only are they super warm – ahhh that goes without saying but they come in all sorts of styles too – there’s everything from flashy metallic to pale pink blush-toned puffers. Wear them over everything you own – even a little black dress and you’re ready for a chic but cozy night out. Backless loafers Gucci may have been first on the scene with fur lined backless loafers but it seems everyone else has followed suit. Not only is this fashion trend another comfy warm one but these loafers work with everything from dresses to pants and distressed jeans. The key to getting this look right is to mix high/low – so if your jeans are distressed you need to pair them with a slinky heel or a cool loafer to elevate the look. 4. Faux fur Faux fur is everywhere this season and if you’ve watched any of my previous videos you’ll know I’m a huge fan. Not only do faux fur jackets and coats keep you toasty warm but they come in loads of cool colours too. 5. Naval inspired coats and jackets Military inspired coats and jackets are nothing new but they have returned in a big way this winter. One of the best things about this trend is that while it’s in fashion now it’s actually a really timeless trend. This style of jacket never really go out of fashion so if you make an investment now you know you’re going to wear it for years to come. Structured jackets like these are great for giving you a bit of shape and they dress up even a simple pair of jeans and a tee shirt. Statement belts This trend may not be for the faint hearted but bare with me a minute. I’m not someone who ever wears a belt and I mean ever. I don’t feel comfortable having something tugging at my waist and I don’t like my bits hanging out over the top either but this trend is different. Not only are corset style belts really wide, but they are also designed to be worn loose and a little undone. So all they are really doing is giving you some shape and creating some interest to a simple button-up shirt or a t-shirt. Some are even stretchy which is even better.
